How to Start Tenancies Post 1 May: Getting It Right From Day One
Duration: Half day
Delivery Method: Virtual OR Face to Face
Who is this course for? Landlords, Agents and other Housing Professionals
Course Content:
From 1st May, all new PRS tenancies in England are Assured Periodic Tenancies, and landlords can no longer rely on Section 21.
This makes it more important than ever to set up tenancies correctly from day one, ensuring full compliance with deposit law, prescribed information, PRS database requirements, and contract terms.
This practical, step‑by‑step course guides landlords and agents through the essential tasks required at the start of a tenancy to avoid problems later.
The session focuses on real‑world processes, including handling rent in advance, managing payment date changes, issuing the correct documents, and creating a clear evidence trail that supports future enforcement or possession action.
This is a hands‑on, operational session designed to give PRS landlords the confidence to start tenancies safely, legally and efficiently
