HHSRS (2026) - Your Training Options

Option 1 

HHSRS (Amendment 2026) Transition Refresher (Full Day) - Virtual Delivery 

This full-day course is designed for existing HHSRS practitioners who want to update their knowledge following the changes introduced through the national HHSRS review. It is particularly suitable for officers who have previous experience of applying the Housing Health and Safety Rating System but would benefit from revisiting the core principles and assessment methodology before exploring the new HHSRS Amemdment 2026 framework.

The session provides a practical refresher on the key elements of HHSRS, including hazard identification, assessment principles and enforcement considerations, before examining the proposed HHSRS Amendment 2026 changes in detail. Delegates will gain an understanding of what has changed, the rationale behind the revisions and the implications for housing inspections and regulatory activity.

Option 2

HHSRS (Amendment 2026) Transition Refresher (Half Day) - Virtual Delivery 

This half-day workshop is designed for experienced HHSRS practitioners who are already confident in applying the current Housing Health and Safety Rating System and are looking for a focused update on the Amendment revisions arising from the national HHSRS review.

Rather than revisiting the fundamentals of HHSRS, this session concentrates on the HHSRS Amendment 2026 revisions, providing a clear overview of what has changed, why the changes have been introduced and what they mean for housing inspections, assessments and enforcement activity.

HHSRS Core Competency Course for Practitioners

This is the traditional core competency course that has been updated following the national review to incorporate the Amendment 2026 guidelines.

People who need to assess properties according to the HHSRS, housing managers who need to learn how the HHSRS may change their property ratings and how to prioritise failings, managers who need to supervise staff who are assessing properties.

The course will help organisations come to terms with the practical application and implications of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).

By the end of this course (either 2 full days or 3 half days), participants will understand the principles behind the Housing Health and Safety Rating System and will understand how to link deficiencies, hazards and the likelihood of harms.

HHSRS (Amendment 2026) : The Future of PRS Property Standards for Landlords & Agents

Private landlords and letting agents also need to understand how HHSRS is changing — and what this means for inspections, repairs, evidence, and enforcement.

This focused 2‑hour session is designed for those who already have a basic grounding in property health and safety but want a clear, practical update on the HHSRS Amendment.

We cut through the consultation noise and provide a concise, sector‑safe explanation of the new hazard profiles, baseline indicators, banding, and expectations for PRS compliance.

Option 5

HHSRS (Amendment 2026) Awareness & Fitness For Human Habitation Course

This course has been updated in line with the HHSRS (2026) amendments & is ideal for those new to the Housing Sector needing to increase knowledge on housing standards, and who need to be familiar with HHSRS BUT who will not be conducting regular assessments

The course covers the principles of the HHSRS and how to link deficiencies and hazards, taking a detailed approach to the most common hazards.  The relationship between HHSRS and the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018 is explored, as well as the responsibilities and timelines Social Housing Landlords will need to follow to be compliant with Awaab’s Law.
