Product recall and safety notices

There have been many news articles in the last year about faulty tumble dryers that have caught fire but there are numerous other recalls each year.

The Association of Manufacturers of Domestic Appliances (AMDEA) encourage everyone to register their appliances, in a drive to improve the traceability of products to facilitate recall for safety repairs. For busy landlords this can save time having to keep checking individual products as you would be notified directly.

Members have synchronised their online registration pages to provide registration of new products and of existing/installed products up to twelve years old and a change of address facility.

If you provide any domestic appliances or electrical goods in a property, you should register your appliances visit: https://www.registermyappliance.org.uk

The NLA have compiled a list of product recalls that they feel would be more likely for landlords to use or supply to their tenants – please note this includes items such as light bulbs, taps and electric radiators.
