The Government recently made available £65 million to support local authorities to help vulnerable households with rent arrears to reduce the risk of them being evicted and becoming homeless.   The purpose of this grant is to support low-income private renters with COVID-19 related rent arrears to avoid eviction or find a new home where necessary in order to prevent homelessness.
